Frustration

Friday, July 28th, 2006

When I get sick, I always think of the "good" thing that I would get from it, that is, "at least I’m sure I lost some lbs. and inches there." The thought would somehow make me feel a little bit better.

Sure enough, after not being able to eat properly for 4 or maybe 5 days, I lost 2 lbs. But NOT AN INCH off my waist.  My waistline is still "older" than me. ARGH!

Bored and Lazy

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006

Last week I was down with the flu. I was immagining it was winter here in Manila. I was already wearing my thickest sweat shirt and pants and I even have a blanket on but I was shivering still. I had fever for 2 days, but even after the fever was gone, I still felt dizzy for another couple of days.

Now I have totally recovered from it but I still don’t feel right. I’m so bored, but so lazy to do anything to pick up the mood. I don’t know why… it must be the rain that’s making me feel so down.

Fun With Ami

Friday, July 7th, 2006

At 2 years old, Ami can now count… uhmm more of recite 1-10 in both english and tagalog. She can identify letters both capital and some lower case letters, she is still confused with lower case b, d, p and q. She can name the colors in an 8 pack crayola box + pink, gray and white. She knows the shapes, square, circle, triangle, rectangle, heart and star.

To our surprise, she can even identify the numbers, which we were not able to teach yet. I just found out about it when she was playing with the letters and numbers ref magnets, she saw the number seven and said seven. I though it was just by chance, but a little later she found the number 6, she said six, turned it upside down, and said nine. She was able to identify all the numbers except the number 4. She may have picked it up from TV shows that they frequently watch or from websites she and kuya frequently visit, or maybe she was taught by kuya.

One problem with Ami is her being a bit bulol. Well only words with r and l. But because of that, we have more funny moments with her. One time she was calling her lolo nono, I corrected it:
me: lo-lo
ami: no-no
me: lo
ami: no
me: lo
ami: llllllllo
me: lolo
ami: tatay

another quick Ami hirit is with the letter W. While holding the W ref magnet she said ma daybyu.
me: dobolyu
ami: daybyu
me: do
ami: do
me: bol
ami: bol
me: yu
ami: yu
me dobolyu
ami (turns it upside down): em.

Another fun moment with ami was when she was playing cook. Mama, huhuto ako.Ayan asin pa. Then all of a sudden she said aray, aray, mama, sakit. I got scared, she looked really hurt, I asked her why, what happened. Napaso ako.

Of course there are more, but as of this post, I can only recall these.
