Queen Amidala Takes Over

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Takes over my computer that is. I have been spending less and less time on the computer eversince Ami learned how to use the mouse (last week of September). Before, she used to just sit on my lap and point to wherever she wants to go, but eventually she figured out how to work the mouse, and … mama say goodbye to the computer.

Ok. she’s awake now. Byebye time.

Nakakainis na Balita

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

Happy Birthday To Me

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

My birthday… was just another ordinary day, if not for the calls, SMS and e-mails from friends and relatives who greet me that day. Thank you all so much, I love you too. And of course the greeting from Glenn and the kids.

The kids will sing the birthday song for me every now and then, Ami sang one while hugging me, so sweet. But the funny part is, every time they greet me, they will ask where my cake is. Karl even asked, mama birthday mo ba talaga? Bakit hindi ka nagpapaganda? Bakit wala kang cake?

Haay…. kids…

Little Miss Kikay

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

One night at a department store, we had to split up, I was with Karl, Glenn was with Ami. When we grouped back, Glenn showed me pictures of ami. Our cinversation, as close as I can remember it:

me: Ano iniisip mo at kinunan mo ng picture si Ami sa manequins na naka lingerie?
Glenn: Siya nag aya nun no.
me: As in papa picture-an mo ako?
Glenn: Yup.

Why We Were Busy/ Surprises, surprises

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

I hadn’t got the chance to update my blog because we have been busy preparing for a surprise birthday party for Glenn’s grandmother. It was her 85th birthday so we planned a big party full of surprises for her.

Surprise #1. The party itself. She had given up the hope on having a party on her birthday. Because of unforseen circumstances, she thinks having a party would be too impractical.

Surprise #2. The party attendees. Almost all of the invited people were there. We did not expect to have that much people since the party was on a weeknight.

Surprise #3. Two days before the party, her son who now lives in Australia arrived. Everybody except nanay knew that he will be attending the celebration. But the son who is a surprise guest was also surprised…

Surprise #4. The night before the party, the son was surprised by his wife, who by the last minute was able to get a flight to Manila. This was really unplanned.

Surprise #5. The big surprise to everybody except Glenn…the day before the party, Glenn’s mom arrived. Two days before that, Glenn said he has an emergency meeting, which I thought was wierd, emergency meeting scheduled two days ahead, what kind of an emergency was that? But given the wierd setup of Glenn’s office I thought nothing of it. 5am that morning he left for the "emergency meeting". 6:30am he was back honking his horn. I thought to myself, oh no… the meeting must have been cancelled, he must be very pissed. Then when the van was pulling up the garage, he lowered his window and SURPRISE! There was mommy.

So the son who was the surprise guest was surprised by his wife the night before and by his sister just hours before the party.

We let the three of them stay in the DJ’s booth until it was time…

It was a successful party…

That party was before the storm. After that, the storm and 4 days of no electricity. And after that days of catching up on the housework plus getting sick :(.

Blog Backlog

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

We’ve been busy the past days, so I was not able to update my blog. My last post was about our third day in Singapore which was a month ago. I don’t feel like writing about days 4,5 and 6 in detail anymore, but I will write some just to complete the story…

Day 4… finally! After 2 failed attempts last year (due to heavy rains), we finally saw the botanical gardens. Admission is free, except when you want to enter the National Orchid Garden which is inside the botanical garden. We spent most of the day with Rachel and her family. After that, we went to Suntec City Mall and signed up for the Duck Tour.

Day 5 was a Sunday, so we went to church in the morning, then did some more shopping in the afternoon.

Day 6, we went back to Sentosa, tried the new ride, the Luge and Skyride, then we went back to the Underwater World. We had an early dinner, packed our things and early the next morning, we were out of the hotel. By lunch time, we were back to Clark Airport.
